Who is Crockett as in Davy?
Hi! I’m Kelli Crockett Newsome and ‘Crockett as in Davy’ is a woman-owned independent design studio based in OKC, specializing in building Shopify and Squarespace websites for creative entrepreneurs who are ready to stop winging it and start growing with a website that actually works as hard as they do.
With 20+ years in design, 4 brick-and-mortar shops, 10 years of retail ownership, and 800+ wholesale accounts worldwide, I've started businesses with zero funding, pivoted more times than I can count, and had plenty of moments where I laughed, cried, and genuinely asked myself what any of it was for.
I know how it feels to plan a store event and have no one show up or launch a product and hear nothing back. I also know what it feels like to have an opening that kills it, to grow a retail shop to six figures in its first year because we were prepared, loud about our launch, and strategic about every single decision.
I'm telling you this, because I want you to know that the person building your website has actually been where you are.
I take everything I’ve learned, the wins, the hard pivots, the ‘starting-over for the tenth time’ moments, and use them to build websites that are clear, strategic, and actually convert, not just pretty, not just functional, but built to work as hard as you do.I've done the struggling, so you can skip straight to the building.
Pick the one that sounds best like you:
-
"I make and sell a product online."
Candles, jewelry, skincare, home goods, artwork, etc.
You need a Shopify store that converts browsers into buyers and makes inventory management effortless.
Shopify websites start at $3,000
-
"I have a shop and need an online presence."
Gift shops, boutiques, brick-and-mortar, pop-ups, etc.
You need a site that captures your in-store energy, drives foot traffic, and lets people shop remotely.
Shopify websites start at $3,000
Squarespace websites start at $1,800
-
"I offer a service and need more bookings."
Photographers, stylists, therapists, event planners, etc.
You need a Squarespace site that makes it immediately clear what you do and effortless to book you.
Squarespace websites from $1,800
-
"I need clarity, direction, or an expert eye on my site."
Photographers, stylists, coaches, florists, boutique owners, makers — anyone who needs strategy, not just design.
You know something isn't working, but can't pinpoint what, or you want honest feedback before spending money on a full build.
Clarity calls start at $225
“Kelli was fantastic redesigning my website! She asked all the questions to get down to what I really needed, which was especially helpful as I’m not someone who is familiar with my options! She is super responsive and does amazing work! You won’t be disappointed if you book with her!”

Featured Project: Common Dear
Common Dear was a women-owned, feminist, and self-empowerment retail and wholesale brand that my wife and I built from the ground up and ran from launch in November 2019 through closure in September 2024 in Oklahoma City. We designed the brand together, and I built and managed the Shopify store, ran the social media with our team on TikTok, created the content for Instagram, designed the packaging, developed products with my wife, merchandised the physical shop, and managed inventory.
The challenge was building a brand that could live everywhere at once — on a phone screen, on a product, on a shelf in our store, on a shelf in other stores across the country through our wholesale program, on a pop-up table, and on a social feed — and feel like the same world in every single place.
The approach started with a strong logo and visual identity with enough character to translate across formats without losing itself. Every downstream decision — social graphics, packaging, signage, shop aesthetic, Shopify store design — was built from that same foundation. The brand had a point of view, and it showed up everywhere.
The results:
Grew Instagram to 10,000+ followers
Grew TikTok to 16,000+ followers
Hit six figures in revenue in the first full year
Landed a product collaboration with the Oklahoma City Thunder — designing custom keychains for the Thunder staff for Pride month that merged the Common Dear aesthetic with one of OKC's most iconic brands
