Hello! I’m Kelli Newsome, but my maiden name is Crockett. For most of my life, when asked how to spell my last name, I’d say, “Crockett, as in Davy.” As I contemplated a name for my new business, I kept thinking of how my life has really come full circle from the kid with rainbow hair that used to sit on her living room floor sewing pants in high school to the life I have now with my beautiful family and all of the fun things we’ve created together as small business owners. Crockett as in Davy, just felt right and makes me smile.

A glimpse into my journey… I’ve dreamed of starting my own design business for most of my life. While I’ve enjoyed working for others and have collaborated with my wife for the past ten incredible years, this moment finally feels right to create something that’s a true reflection of me. As we plan to move abroad in 2026, I want to embrace this opportunity to work remotely and pursue my passions from anywhere. My heart is dying to travel and to dedicate my days to what I love: design and family.

In 2004, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design from Texas Woman’s University. I worked as a Technical Designer for a women’s clothing brand, and also loved working as a shopkeeper at a locally owned vintage shop in Deep Ellum during college, setting the stage for all I’ve been working towards in the past 21 years. My heart for graphic design sparked in high school, and despite only one college class, I’ve pursued it relentlessly. I’ve gained invaluable skills through various roles in product development and design, project management, and branding for my own shops and freelance work, as well as corporations.

At 43, incredibly grateful for my beautiful family and a small business I adore with my wife, I firmly believe that life is too short not to pursue what you love. I feel like the luckiest person on the planet to have the life I’m living. "Crockett, as in Davy," embodies my journey and passions. It showcases everything I cherish and the expertise I’m excited to share.
